Diet and Nutrition

Hello everyone, I need advice. I'm really struggling to figure out food. I don't see any recipes I like online that are soft for me and/or healthy. I want to eat healthy foods to maintain a positive mental health, but nothing inspires me and I'm bored food wise. I also tried to get a dietitian and they asked for a diagnosis? I'm not sure what to say. Any advice would be great because I'm tired of feeling trapped.

  1. Hey ! I didn't know you were on here. So cool to see you and I totally know how you feel. I used to love food. I mean really loved eating to the point where, when I was a kid, I wanted to be a food critic. But now everything I eat is so uninspiring and takes so much energy to finish a meal. If I get no enjoyment out of eating, then what's the point?

So, I found that I wasn't going to make myself anxious about eating. I have a g-tube which I get most calories from and I'll eat by mouth when there's something extra tasty or I know it's easy for me to swallow.

Recently I've been eating a lot of soup. Maybe try that out? I also enjoy drinking homemade smoothies. I wrote an article about that (https://spinalmuscularatrophy.net/living/monitoring-calories) and there are tons of recipes online.

I hope you know you're not alone in the battle against food. It can be really frustrating.
