Unique Accessible Seating During a Fun Weekend Trip

Hello everyone! Hope all is well! Today, I wanted to talk about a fun and interesting accessible seating option.

Traveling to attend a concert

So my family and I love the band Daughtry, and we recently traveled to see them at Wind Creek in Bethelem, Pennsylvania.

Before the show, my mom called the box office, and the woman on the phone gave us these great seats! These seats were so unique! We had a suite, so we had a couch, a sink, tables, and outlets, and then our seats! We were overlooking the stage. There were two seats, and I had my chair next to my mom and dad. I really liked how everything was set up, and we weren't near anyone. I definitely like to have my own space with my family whenever possible because it just makes me feel comfortable.

Celebrating being alive

As far as food and drinks went, they had mostly snack food (but I couldn't have it because it wasn't soft enough) and themed alcoholic drinks based on the songs! I love it when people do that! I got a “It's not over” drink, which was raspberry Smirnoff and club soda. I really don't drink much, but when I do, I have sweet drinks because I'm a lightweight since I'm so small. It really was so much fun. I really love concerts. People just being there bonding over an artist, it's such a great feeling and I know that I personally needed some way to celebrate being alive after everything last year. I'm very grateful that this year is my healing and becoming my best self year. I’m very honored for all of the blessings this year.

Away for a fun, relaxing weekend

As far as the rest of the weekend in Bethlehem goes, we had great food, went to the newly built spa there and overall, I was lucky to be able to be present and have a great vacation. We don't travel much because it can be a lot packing and making sure we have things, so we try to do day trips mostly! And so this was a wonderful weekend day trip.

I want to talk about the spa! I've had a knot forever in my back and I'm not sure why, so I wanted to get a massage, but they couldn't do it in my chair, so I got a facial instead! Aside from doing products on my face, they massaged my hair, shoulders and my little wrists and fingers (which I loved because I didn't realize how tight they were!) She was very gentle which I was grateful for!

Grateful for an accessible hotel

And for the hotel, I have to say that I really appreciate how they honor the steel workers there and pay homage to that! They incorporate it everywhere and it makes for beautiful art around by the hotel. Everything in the hotel was very accessible and they had outlets there too!

We went to the Carlos bake shop one for a little dessert. And speaking of food, it definitely depends on what you liked, but I feel like they had a pretty good variety of food which is good.

So yeah, travel can definitely be a lot, but I'm super grateful for moments like these that make me forget about the hardships that come with SMA and just make me feel like Kellie for a few minutes and let it all go!
