Support Animal

Do you have a support animal/pet? What do you love about them? Would you recommend a support animal for other SMA patients?

  1. I don’t have a trained support animal, but I do have three dogs and will possibly be getting kitten. Having a furry companion means you’re never alone. With SMA we often have a harder time getting out and being social or have no energy to do so and a furry pal being there 24/7 means you’re never truly alone. They offer emotional support and have a way of helping you feel better. They love you for who you are, not what you can or can’t do. I would highly recommend a support animal that’s trained to help with emotional distress and physical activities or even just a companion! -Jennifer Health Leader
