Full Time Job and Paying for Caregivers

Hoping to start working soon as a student (so part time). Worried I’ll lose Medicaid though. I live in Virginia and I believe the max amount of monthly income is about $2,300. I know people have full time jobs and still keep insurance that pays for their caregivers, can anyone give a run down of how they do it? Thanks!

  1. This is a good question! And the answer might vary from state to state. This article might interest you. It's written by one of our caregivers about programs in his state, Pennsylvania, that includes some provisions for paying for caregivers. I don't know if Virginia has a similar program, but a number of states do (check out this article). You may want to start my checking out your state's Medicaid office. Let us know what you discover. 2. Hi , I hope this may help - https://coverva.dmas.virginia.gov/learn/coverage-for-adults/adults-19-64-years-old/ - there is a chat with us button in the lower right. The chart appears to have last bee updated in 1/2025, so the chat may be helpful to see if there have been any recent changs that have not yet been updated. - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)
